A listing looks too good to be true: what should I check?

A price far below the market is rarely a bargain: it's often the bait for a scam. Take the time to check before committing.

  • Compare the price with similar listings. A huge gap is a red flag.
  • Look at the photos: a single image, a catalogue shot or a picture found elsewhere online should make you cautious.
  • Ask specific questions in chat and request extra photos taken on the spot.
  • Check the seller's profile: account age, other listings, a possible verified badge.
  • Refuse all pressure: "other people are interested, pay quickly to reserve" is a manipulation technique.

If a listing looks fraudulent, don't proceed and report it directly from its page. You'll help other members too.
